Our Story

Our workshop is built on simple principles: slow craft, honest materials, and a deep respect for the items we choose to carry every day. What began at my parents' dinner table — out of the desire to create something of my own from scratch, and to be a part of a very interesting niche community — has grown into a small studio dedicated to creating functional, well-made pieces that feel meaningful in the hand and reliable in the pocket.

Every handkerchief, pocket square, pouch, and display mat we produce is sewn one at a time with careful attention to detail — clean finishes, deliberate stitching, and designs that reflect the character of the EDC community. These aren't mass-market accessories; they're small-batch goods shaped by intention and a commitment to quality.

SwankHanks was born in 2011 from a single conviction: that the EDC community deserved something better than what existed — handmade, intentional, and built to last.

Sourcing

Every material is chosen with purpose. We source fabrics from Portugal, Vietnam, and Japan — regions known for their textile craftsmanship — because the quality of what goes in determines the quality of what comes out.

The Know-How

There's no shortcut to craft. Our process has been shaped by years of trial and error, refining techniques until every stitch, finish, and fold meets the standard we hold ourselves to.
